2004? An immediate impact after joining the team at the semester break, Schjellerud had top-four finishes in all but one race in 2004, to claim bragging rights as CU’s No. 1 nordic skier.  He picked up his first collegiate win in CU’s own invitational when he won the classical in 26:04.6, a distant 30 seconds ahead of New Mexico’s Geir Endre Rogn.  His highest freestyle finish was second a day later, again in CU’s own carnival.  He missed the Utah Invitational as he returned to Norway competing in the National Championships.  His runner-up in the classical and third place effort in the freestyle in the NCAA West Regional championships was the strongest regional weekend for a Buff since Ove Erik Tronvoll finished second and first, respectively, in that meet in ’98.  In his first NCAA Championship, Schjellerud finished outside the top-four for the first (and last) time all season when he finished 11th in the 10k freestyle, just one position shy of All-American status.  He rebounded two days later when he claimed a national runner-up classical finish (his fifth of the season), for first-team honors just 3.8 seconds off the winning pace.  It was the best finish by a men’s nordic skier in the discipline since Tronvoll won in 1999. Schjellerud received the Dick Schoenberger Memorial Award as CU’s top men’s nordic skier and was also named to the All-Rocky Mountain Ski Association Team sans his first season in Boulder.

Club? Schjellerud skied for the Vind IL club team for 20 years (1984-04) and in 2003 finished 34th and 40th in World Cup competition, 15th at the Norwegian Championship and had six top 25 finished and three top-20 efforts in Norwegian Cup races.

Academics?Schjellerud is a management major at Colorado.

Personal?Tor Erik Schjellerud was born May 24, 1980 in Oslo, Norway.  His parents are Oistein and Toril Schjellerud of Gjovik, Norway.  He has an older sister, Elin Schjellerud.
