Outdoor: Won the 400 hurdles at the Jack Christiansen with a best of 51.32, good for fifth in school history ... Qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries in the 400 hurdles and the 4x400 ... Placed 27th in the hurdles and 22nd in the 4x400.
2018: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: McCoy focused on the 400-meter hurdles during his freshmen campaign with the Buffs. He competed three times this season. McCoy earned first place at the Air Force Twilight meet in May with a time of 52.48. He recorded a personal record at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 51.87 in the prelims but posted a DNF in finals.
HIGH SCHOOL: McCoy boasts an impressive high school resume, including being named the Colorado 4A Track and Field Athlete of the Year his senior year. Additionally, he holds his school record in the 100-meters (10.66) and is a state champion in both the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. On a national level, McCoy placed seventh in the 400-hurdles at the National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championship. Off the track, McCoy was also named as a first-team all-conference wide receiver in two years on the Tigers’ football squad.
HIGH SCHOOL BESTS: Indoor: 60-meter: 6.90; 200-meters: 22.29; 400-meters: 50.56; Outdoor: 100-meters: 10.66; 200-meters: 21.73; 300-meter hurdles: 37.94; 400-meter hurdles: 53.25; 400m: 49.49.
IN THE CLASSROOM: McCoy is a media design major with a minor in sports media.
PERSONAL: Aaron Dylan McCoy was born in Canon City, Colorado and is the son of Joel and Michelle McCoy. He has two brothers and an older sister.
