College—2022-23 (Jr./Sr.)—Saw action in three fall tournaments (a designated scorer in all), averaging 75.56 strokes for the nine rounds … Five of the nine did count toward CU’s team score … Top finish was in the season opener at Air Force, where he tied for 36th in the Miranda Invitational (73-76-71—220, +4); the final round 71 was his best round in the fall … Did not see any action in the spring … He did have one year of eligibility remaining if he so choose after the season (due to the extra year granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic) but opted to graduate.
2021-22 (Soph.): Owed a 74.75 stroke average for 22 rounds; he had seen limited spring action, appearing in just two events, but had a solid showing in qualifying to earn the sixth and final spot for the Pac-12s) ... Played his best in middle rounds (73.75 average) ... In the fall, he had a 74.00 average for four events, playing as an individual in three meets ... Those included CU’s Mark Simpson Invitational, where he recorded his best collegiate finish with a third place showing; his 68-66-69—203 scorecard and 13-under par effort set a school record for a 54-hole event, besting five previous 12-under 204 scores ... He had just three rounds in the 60s in his career before lighting up CU’s home course with three in a row in the Simpson (had 17 birdies in the event, tied for second-most by a Buff in a ’21-22 tourney) ... Scored par or better on 50 of 54 holes in the Simpson, otherwise had just four bogeys; that tied for the fewest holes over par in an event by a Buff for the season ... He opened the fall with a tie for 10th in Air Force’s Miranda Individual (221, +5) ... In the final tournament of the fall (Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Classic), he opened with an 88, but rebounded with a second round 71; the 17-stroke in-tournament improvement from one round to the next tied for the second-best in school history (one off the school best of 18 by John Nyuli in 1990 at the Miami-Doral Invitational) ... He entered the Pac-12 coming off a tie for sixth in the Southern Colorado Masters (219, +3); he opened with a 69 and hung in there the last two rounds when wind gusted at 25 miles per hour or more for most of the remainder of the event ... 2020-21 (Fr.-3): Finished third on the team in stroke average with a 73.37 mark for 19 rounds … Usually closed strong, with a 72.5 final round average, which included a 4-under 68 in Wyoming’s Cowboy Classic, his best round of the year … Top finish came in Wyoming’s Desert Intercollegiate, where he tied for 16th with an even-par 216 total; a second round 69 had matched his collegiate best to that point … Best effort in relation to par was in the Cowboy Classic, when was recorded a 3-under 213 scorecard … Was a designated scorer for the team for all 19 of his rounds, with his score counting 17 times (89.5 percent) … Had a run of 20 straight holes of par or better between the second and third rounds of the Wyoming Desert meet (when he had 40 pars overall, third most by a Buff in a tournament for the spring) … Retained freshman eligibility when the NCAA gave all athletes an extra year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2019-20 (Fr.-RS): He enjoyed some fine moments competing for the first time as a collegian, recording three top 20 finishes and posting a 73.70 stroke average for 20 rounds on the season … His 73.21 average was the fourth-best for a freshman in the fall in the 14 seasons under Coach Roy Edwards and his overall average was the fifth-best by a freshman in school history (though with the season cut short, he just met the minimum for rounds played to make the list) … His best effort came in CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational, when he recorded a 3-under 213 to tie for 20th; his 3-under 69 in the final round was his best individual 18 holes for the year … Top finishes were a tie for eighth in CU’s Les Fowler event (147, +7), followed by a tie for 13th in CSU’s Ram Masters Invitational (210, E) … Owned a healthy middle round average of 72.50 (six rounds) … Tied for third on the team in subpar percentage (17.8 percent, 64 of his 360 holes were birdies) … His 15 pars in the third round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate and the 39 he had in that event tied for the team-highs for the season … He had just 10 holes (out of 360) worse than bogey over the entire season.
