AT COLORADO: This Season (Soph.)—Has played in 19 games with three starts … CU's nominee for the Danny Wuerffel Award, given for community service. 

2021 (Fr.-3)—Played in 10 games and started three at outside linebacker, missing the final two games due to injury … Made his first career start in week eight against Oregon … In his 191 defensive snaps, he recorded 13 total tackles, 11 solo, and a sack, which game against Arizona … Added four third down stops, two forced fumbles, two pass breakups, and a touchdown save on defense … On special teams, he had seven points with three solo tackles, two forced fair catches, and two knockdown blocks on kickoff returns … Most productive games came in week six against Arizona recording four solo tackles, one tackle for loss, two third down stops, and a sack.

2020 (Fr.-RS)—Played in all six games including the Alamo Bowl both on defense and special teams … In the regular season, had 91 snaps on defense and put pressure on the quarterback often with seven quarterback hurries … The seven hurries was the most on the team and averaged out to one every 13 defensive snaps … Added one tackle, one pass breakup, one third down stop and one caused interception … Added one special teams point, having a knockdown or springing block on the kick return unit … Made big plays in nearly every game, having a quarterback hurry in four of the five regular season games, including two against UCLA, at Arizona and against Utah in the season finale … Had a pass break-up at Stanford and was credited with three tackles against Texas in the Alamo Bowl … Also got it done in the class room, winning the team's Jacob Van Ek Award for academics and being named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and was on the first team Academic All-Colorado Team awarded by the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation. 

2019 (Fr.)—Dressed for all 12 games and saw action in three games, all on special teams, against Nebraska, Arizona State and UCLA … Still earned a redshirt season with the new rule … He was named the Defensive Scout of the Week three times, leading into the Colorado State, Oregon and Stanford games … He had three tackles combined in the two scrimmages and spring game … A member of the 2018 recruiting class, he took a "gray-shirt" and delayed enrollment until January 2019.
 
HIGH SCHOOL—Rated as a 3-star recruit by the major recruiting services coming out of Aquinas High School in Cherry Valley, Calif. … Under coach Jordan Brusig, he played both tight end and defensive end/outside linebacker and helped the Falcons go 14-1 his senior year while reaching the CIF Division 2A Regional final, 11-3 as a junior with a semifinal appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division 10 playoffs … As a senior, he had 78 tackles, four sacks, one fumble recovery while catching 24 passes for 545 yards and 11 TDs … As a junior, he had 78 tackles, 10 for losses, four sacks and an interception while catching 50 passes for 978 yards and 15 TDs … Also competed on the track and field team and won the Ambassador League Finals with a shot put throw of 45-8.
 
ACADEMICS—He is majoring in Psychology at Colorado and pursuing minors in both Leadership Studies and Ethnic Studies while also completing a certificate for Critical Sport Studies … Earned first-team honors on the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation Academic All-Colorado Team in both 2020 and '21, and also earned the team's Dean Jacob Van Ek Award for academics in 2020 … Named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in both 2020 and ‘21.
 
PERSONAL—He was born September 5, 1999 in Hamburg, Germany …  He, along with his older brother, Niklas, moved to the United States to play high school football before Joshka’s sophomore season to try to obtain a college scholarship … Niklas played college football at NAIA Morningside College in Iowa and was the school's all-time leader with 23½ career quarterback sacks … Niklas was drafted in the Canadian Football League's Global Draft by the BC Lions in 2021.
