She also started against Northwestern and Oregon State.
COACH SANCHEZ ON VARNADORE: “Brooklyn is probably our most versatile player. We feel like she can play on any of the three lines for us. I can see her as a wide forward, a wide midfielder (depending on our formation) and she can also play center midfielder. Brooklyn also has the athleticism and mindset to potentially play an outside-back. She’s great in the tackle and has an incredible work rate. We feel she has that versatility that she can play probably anywhere on the field for us. We’re excited to add Brooklyn to our class and like a lot of our players; she has a lot of versatility.”
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Varnadore lettered all four years of high school and was named first-team All-League for her freshman, junior and senior seasons. She was also recognized as the team’s offensive MVP her junior and senior years. Varnadore’s 57 goals and 20 assists helped lead Analy High School to a 59-14-5 record during her time there. She has been invited to three different national soccer camps. In 2011, she attended the US ID2 National ID Camp in Texas and was part of an ID2/ECNL Camp from 2013-14. Varnadore has also played on the Bay Oaks Botafogo club team with fellow commits Erin Greening and Stephanie Zuniga-Herrera.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Varnadore is majoring in integrative physiology.
PERSONAL: Brooklyn Mackenzie Varnadore was born to Bryan and Julie Varnadore on July 29, 1997 in Santa Rosa, Calif. She is the youngest of four children.
