2008: Edwards concentrated on the mile during the indoor season. He ran a personal record of 4:19.14 at the Husky Classic where he took 51st overall. Edwards placed 21st at the Big 12 Championship with a mark of 4:29.21. He did not compete during the outdoor season.

2007: Edwards participated in two meets during the indoor season. He ranked a pr of 4:41.48 in the mile at the Air Force Invite and placed 13th overall. He ran the 3k at the Potts Invite, finishing in 9:19.71 and placing seventh. During the outdoor season Edwards concentrated on the 1,500 and steeplechase. He ran a personal best of 4:00.26 in the 1,500 at the Oregon Invite. He took ninth in the steeplechase at the Big 12 Championship, just one position off the podium. He ran in a pr of 9:33.10.

CROSS COUNTRY: In 2007, Edwards ran in four races for Colorado and was a member of the ?B’ team. He was CU’s third scorer at the Fort Hays Invite, placing 16th overall. His highest placing was at the Air Force Invite where he finished 11th as the fifth Buff to finish. Edwards used a redshirt in the 2006 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Edwards was an eight-time letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Ramstein High School. His cross country team won the Division I DoDDS Europe Championship from 2001-05 and his track teams won 2002-05. Edwards won the cross country championship in 2005 by 20 seconds and placed second in 2006. Edwards owns several RHS records. In the 1,500, he broke a record set in 1989 with a mark of 4:02.1. His record in the 3,000 of 8:45.0 broke a record which was also set in 1989. Edwards also set the championship course record at Heidelberg, Ger., in 16:03. All of his records were set his senior seasons. Edwards also earned four letters in swimming. He was named the RHS Student-Athlete of the Year as a senior and junior. He earned the Royal Pride Award at RHS and was named the league’s cross country MVP as a junior after winning the league’s championship. Edwards lists his personal record in the 1,500m as 4:02.1 set in London, England.

ACADEMICS: Edwards is an applied math major at Colorado. He is also interested in art and music. In 2006, he was a member of the third place Brain Bowl team. Edwards graduated at the top of his class, in third, with a 4.29 GPA. He owns a GPA greater than 3.0 at CU and is a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Daniel D. Edwards was born on Sept., 13, 1987 in Okinawa, Japan to Dennis and Elaine Edwards. Both of his parents are teachers. He has one older sister, Nina, and a younger brother, Kevin. Edwards lived in Germany for 16 years, so he is bilingual and even gave a German address at his high school graduation. He became a serious runner in 10th grade, prior to which he was a swimmer on the Kaiserslartern Kingfish swim team. Edwards lists playing guitar, swimming and road and mountain biking as his hobbies.
