2008 Spring (senior): Saw action at No. 6 singles with a 1-1 record ... Straight-set winner at No. 6 helping CU defeat Texas Tech on Mar. 30 ... For the year performed a season-best 10-4 singles and a 5-4 doubles mark ... In her two years on the team achieved a 16-12 mark in singles and 12-10 in doubles play.
2007 Fall (senior): Started her final season with an impressive 9-3 singles record, the most wins on the team ... Won five straight matches, including all four at the CU Invitational (Sept. 28-30) ... Defeated a pair of Oklahoma players (Elena Antakova, Rachel Cox) ... Achieved a perfect 5-0 record in three set matches ... In doubles went 5-3 teaming with freshman Christian Pheil for three of those victories, one each with Franziska Jendrian and Gleisy Torres Torres ... Named CU Athlete of the Week (Oct. 15-21).
2007 Spring (junior): Helped CU earn its first NCAA Tournament appearance in four years; most team victories (16) and Big 12 Conference triumphs (9), and highest team ranking (37th) -- all team-bests in eight years (1999) ... Went 1-3 during dual play ... Defeated Lauren Hickey of San Francisco, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 6 helping CU to a 7-0 win on March 27 ... On the doubles court went 3-3, three of the victories at No. 3 ... Teamed with Melisa Esposito for pair of wins, the other with Gleisy Torres Torres ... Defeated Todorova/Orletsky (Arizona), 9-8(5) helping CU clinch the doubles point over the Wildcats (Jan. 26); and an 8-5 winner over Oregon’s Powaska/Hoz de Vila securing a Buffaloes doubles sweep ... Tallied her first Big 12 Conference triumph teaming with Torres Torres at No. 3 with an 8-2 winner over Cicmanec/Finnegan of Nebraska ... Of the team’s seven doubles sweeps, Almagno was on two of them.
2006 Fall (junior): Started her initial season at CU with a 5-5 singles record ... Won two matches at the Air Force Invitational (Oct. 6-7) with wins over Amy Senko (Wyoming) and Sarah Seltsam (Colorado State) and opened the season with a victory over teammate Martina Sedivec at the CU Invitational (Sept. 23) ... Also won a pair of matches at the Wilson/ITA Central Regional Championships (Oct. 18-22) defeating Senko of Wyoming and Jocelyn Jensen (BYU) ... All five singles wins came in straight sets ... In doubles, recorded a 4-3 mark ... Teamed with Gleisy Torres Torres for a 3-1 record at the USAFA Invitational claiming the Flight B championship defeating teams from Memphis, Wyoming, Denver ... Also paired with Melisa Esposito at the CU Invite over Denver’s Bauregger/Sackmaster ... Teamed up with Veera Nurmi at the Wilson/ITA Central Regional with a 1-1 record defeating Northern Arizona’s Porter/Vial at the Round of 32 main draw.
2006 Spring (sophomore): Finished the spring with a 2-12 mark in singles play ... Concluded the year 2-17... Missed the final five matches due to injury ... Won her first match of the spring with a 6-3, 4-6 (12-10) win over Catherine Canady (Stetson) ... Also defeated Georgia State’s Rachel Malina, 6-0, 6-3 ... Finished 7-8 in doubles play in the spring and 10-10 overall ... Two of thoese were conference wins over Kentucky and Vanderbilt ... Finished 6-6 when paired with Chappell.
2005 Fall (sophomore): Finished with a singles record of 0-5 ... Finished 3-2 in doubles play.
2005 Spring (freshman): Finished with a 3-16 singles record ... Played majority of the season in the No. 3, 4 and 5 slots ... All three wins came at No. 3 ... Competed in 18 of 21 doubles matches.
2004 Fall (freshman): Went 4-7 in singles play ... In doubles went 4-6.
Cherry Creek HS: Gatorade Player of the Year her senior season ... Named team most valuable player ... Ranked 64th nationally ... Won 2003 Intermountain sectionals ... Won Colorado state title in 2000 and 2001 ... Earned team spirit award her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons ... Team won Colorado State championship in 2001, ‘02, ‘03 and ‘04 ... Also ran cross country her senior season.
Personal: Born Victoria Elizabeth Almagno on April 29, 1986 in Providence, R.I. ... Daughter of Philip and Isabella Almagno ... Has a younger sister, Lea ... During the summer of 2007 teamed up with Cherry Creek high school teammate Allie Shafner to win the Colorado State Open Doubles Championship as the No. 1 seed at the Gate Tennis Center in Denver. Almagno/Shafner also won the doubles title in the summer of 2006 as unseeded pair.
