She also broke the Big 12 record for both total saves and saves in conference games (91), as well as saves per game (9.40). She earned shutouts vs. Massachusetts (8 saves), Oklahoma (7 saves), Colorado College (4 saves), Texas Tech (10 saves) and Kansas (4 saves). She earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10 after making 21 totals saves in two games to open the season, including 14 in a season-opening 2-0 loss to No. 1 North Carolina. She then stopped seven shots in a 4-1 win over George Washington two days later on Sept. 6.

Junior (1997): After missing the first three games of the season while nursing a pulled quadricep, Cox quickly emerged as the Buffaloes' top netminder, limiting opponents to 1.67 goals per game and stopping 84.2 percent of the foes' shots on goal. Cox was voted team MVP by her peers based on this effort. Her 133 saves on the season included a school-record 18 on Sept. 20 at Massachusetts.

Hartford: Had 2.83 goals against average in 1996, seeing action in seven games (five starts) for the Lady Hawks. In her career at Hartford, she allowed just 1.72 goals per game, and established an impressive .762 save percentage. She also had three solo and four shared shutouts, and sported a 2-4-2 record as a Hawk. She suffered a concussion against Connecticut early in the season in 1995 which cut her freshman year short. She was twice selected America East Player of the Week in 1995.

High School: As a prep, her teams won the Canadian National Championship four times and the Ontario Cup six times. She was a three-sport athlete in high school, as she also played basketball and volleyball.

Personal: She played for the Burlington Bandits club team, where she won one Canadian National Championship and one Ontario Provincial Championship.
