Bjorklund To Chat On ESPN.com

BOULDER - Junior center Tera Bjorklund will appear on ESPN.com's Timeout Chat Show Wednesday at approximately 2 p.m. MT. Bjorklund and the Buffs are in the midst of a nine-day final exams break, as after defeating in-state rival Colorado State 65-51 Dec. 12, they don't play again until Dec. 21 when Southern Cal visits Boulder.
After two seasons of splitting time with sensational center Britt Hartshorn, Bjorklund has found herself in the spot light. Leading the Buffs with averages of 18.8 points, 3.6 assits and 2.0 blocks per game, the St. Peter, Minn., native also leads the team with an impressive .602 field goal percentage and also has high marks in rebounds per game (7.0), free throw percentage (.864) and also averages over 30.0 minutes per game, as well.
Despite being a "part time" starter her first two years, she is one of just eight players in CU history to reach at least 700 points by the end of their sophomore seasons, starting the second-fewest number of games (13) of those eight players in the process. She currently needs just 126 more points to be the 19th player overall as well as the seventh junior and fourth center to reach the 1,000 point mark in CU history.
Bjorklund and the Buffs currently sit at 7-1 early in the 2001-02 season, tied for the second-best mark after eight games in school history behind the 1980-81 and 1992-93 teams that each won at least their first eight games. It is the first 7-1 start since the 1995-96 team that finished the season 26-9 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
After the Dec. 21 Southern Cal game, which tips at 2 p.m. at the Coors Events Center, the Buffs finish off their pre-conference schedule with a trip to New York where they will face Syracuse Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. and Buffalo Jan. 2 at 5 p.m. before returning home to face Iowa State Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. in Boulder in the Big 12 opener.
