WHITNEY LAW OUT FOR SEASON WITH KNEE INJURY

BOULDER - University of Colorado womenGÇÖs basketball player Whitney Law is out for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in her knee, coach Ceal Barry announced Monday.
According to team physician Dr. Michelle Wolcott, Law has a complete tear of her ACL and MCL and will undergo magnetic resonance imaging on Wednesday to examine the possibility of any meniscus damage or other damage. Law will undergo surgery hopefully within the month.
"What do you really say about these things," said Barry. "All I know is that Whitney Law absolutely loves the game of basketball, and weGÇÖll all support her as she works to get better. SheGÇÖll work as hard as anyone to get herself healthy."
Law, a native of Littleton and a graduate of Chatfield Senior High, injured her knee late in the second half in ColoradoGÇÖs game at Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. She was averaging 14.0 minutes per game in a steadily increasing role in her first season at CU. She is a redshirt sophomore as she sat out last season due to NCAA regulations after she transferred to Colorado from Georgia.
This marks ColoradoGÇÖs first "new" ACL casualty since junior Jenny Circle during the 1998-99 season. Sophomore Cecily Jones re-injured her ACL earlier this month and is rehabilitating in the hopes of rejoining the team in January or February.
