DALLAS ? Tera Bjorklund, senior center for the University of Colorado women’s basketball team, has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week for her performances of Nov. 24-30 the league office announced Monday.

Bjorklund was named to her third all-tournament team in as many weekends on Saturday after leading the Buffaloes to the title of the 2003 Coors Classic. She averaged 22.0 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game on the weekend, including registering her first double-double of the season against Idaho State. The St. Peter, Minn., native scored 23 points and had a career-high 14 rebounds in Colorado’s win over the Bengals, shooting 64 percent from the floor with two assists and three blocked shots. Against California, Bjorklund had 21 points and nine rebounds, including 9-12 shooting from the free throw line.  She was named Tournament MVP for her efforts.

This marks the first Big 12 Player of the Week since Mandy Nightingale earned the nod for the week of Dec. 14-21 during the 2000-01 season.  Freshman Emily Waner was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week for Nov. 14-24, ending a three-year drought in that category for the Buffs.
