The 13th ranked women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Coors Events Center on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they take on the Wyoming Cowgirls.  The Buffs are coming off a thrilling 69-67 come-from-behind win over Southern California in Los Angeles on Dec. 20 which moved them to 8-1 on the season.

Colorado features two players in double figures, with senior All-American Tera Bjorklund leading the way at 22.1 points per game, good for second in the Big 12 Conference.  The Buffs are also getting double digits out of senior guard Kate Fagan, who puts up 14.7 ppg.

Bjorkund is CU's seventh all-time leading scorer with 1,515 career points, and she continues to do damage all over the Buff record books, making her a player Buff fans will want to see play before her senior campaign wraps up this spring.

"Tera is a special, special player," says CU head coach Ceal Barry.  "She's the type of player that only comes along every once in awhile and I would encourage fans to come see her play at Coors while they still can."

The next opportunity is Sunday.  Wyoming and CU teams have met 37 times, more than any other Colorado non-conference opponent.  The Buffs are 31-6 against the Cowgirls all-time including 18-1 at home and 13-5 in Laramie.  Colorado has won the last 12 in a row, and have not lost at home to UW since Feb. 20, 1976, which was before any current CU player was born.  CU has been ranked seven times in the 37 meetings and are undefeated in such matchups.

This game also marks the first opportunity for Boulder Valley School District students to earn credits towards a classroom visit from a CU women's player.  BVSD students can fill out a slip when the come to any women's game over the holiday break (Wyoming, Syracuse, Buffalo) and put down their school, grade and class.  The class with the most students attending CU women's games this holiday will win a visit from the CU player of their choice.

The Buffs check in this week at No. 13 in the Associated Press poll and No. 13 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll.  CUGÇÖs highest regular season ranking in the past four seasons was No. 10 in March of 2002.  The last time CU was ranked 13/13 was Feb. 11, 2002.

Colorado has two common opponents with Wyoming in Colorado State and Texas Tech. The Buffs were 78-64 winners over the Rams in Ft. Collins, while the Cowgirls fell to the Lady Raiders 77-26 in Lubbock.

Tickets for the game are available at www.cubuffs.com, TicketsWest outlets or at the Coors Events Conference Center.  "Chip's Court" seats are still available, which include a game ticket, hot dog and a Pepsi for just $5.
