TAMPA, Fla. - The Colorado men's tennis dropped its fourth straight match to a ranked opponent this spring, falling to No. 22 South Florida, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the University of South Florida Tennis Courts.
Junior Bucky Mink tallied the lone CU point at No. 3 singles upsetting Paco Antelo, the nation's 53rd ranked player, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
"Bucky played an awesome match and showed great character," said CU head coach Sam Winterbotham. "His fitness really showed in the later stages of the match."
The Bulls took two of three doubles matches, winning the No. 1 and No. 3 slots by 8-2 and 8-3 scores, respectively.
With the win, USF improves to 4-2 on the season, while the Buffaloes fall to 0-4.
"The team fought hard with four, three-set matches," said Winterbotham. "The guys competed well and displayed character and class, and that's what we are trying to build here."
