CU Blanked at No. 13 VCU

RICHMOND, Va. - The Colorado men's tennis team dropped their third straight match losing to No. 13 Virginia Commonwealth University, 7-0, Tuesday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
The Rams won their ninth straight match and posted its 25th straight home victory improving to 18-3 on the season, while the Buffaloes have lost their 11th match in 13 outings.
The Rams began by claiming the doubles point. VCU's No. 1 tandem of Florian Marquardt and Pedro Nieto, ranked 46th nationally, posted an 8-3 win over Justin Hunter and Chad Tsuda. The home team clinched the point at No. 3 with Daniel Casquero and Francesc Lleal taking an 8-3 winner over Bucky Mink and Marko Bundalo.
In singles, CU faced a tough VCU team that placed four of its top singles players among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top 111th ranked players. Freshman Chad Tsuda held his own at No. 5, falling 7-5, 7-5.
CU (2-11) travels to Williamsburg, Va. to take on No. 34 William & Mary this Friday, March 28 beginning at 1:45 p.m.
