Men Win At H-E-B Tournament

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The No. 70 ranked Colorado men's tennis team won its first match of the spring defeating Northern Illinois, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at the three-day H-E-B Tennis Tournament.

With the win, CU is 1-8 overall.

CU started the day winning two doubles points with Justin Hunter and Chad Tsuda teaming up for an easy 8-2 win at No. 1; and at No. 3, Bucky Mink and Jon Magnes dominated 8-0.

With a 1-0 lead, Colorado kept to its winning ways sweeping straight-set victories at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles. Jon Magnes defeated Stephen Guntly, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4; Marko Bundalo defeated Aaron Forsberg, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5; and at No. 6 Chad Tsuda defeated Ryan Schneck, 6-1, 6-1.

Colorado wraps up the three-day H-E-B Tennis Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
