Tennis Drops Pair at H-E-B Tournament

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The No. 70 ranked Colorado men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Friday at the H-E-B Tournament, falling to New Orleans, 4-3 and to Loyola Marymount, 6-1. The losses drop CU to 0-8 overall.

Against New Orleans, CU took control in the early stages of the match winning the doubles point by sweeping all three points. Justin Hunter and Chad Tsuda won 8-5 followed by Marko Bundalo and Maciej Dilaj winning at No. 2, 8-3. The Buffs added some insurance at No. 3 with Bucky Mink and Jon Magnes taking an 8-4 win.

In singles it was another story as New Orleans took the first four of six singles matches to rally and edge the Buffs, 4-3. Magnes and Tsuda each won in three sets at the No. 5 and No. 6 slots, respectively.

Later in the day, CU dropped a 6-1 decision to Loyola Marymount, 6-1. Tsuda earned the lone CU point winning his fourth consecutive match of the spring, taking a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 decision against Rob Kennedy.
