Men's Tennis Falls to Oklahoma State

KANSAS CITY - The Colorado men's tennis season came to an end at the Big 12 Tournament in the first round, falling to No. 3 Oklahoma State, 4-0, Friday night.

The Buffaloes (6-16), seeded sixth ended the season with four straight losses. Oklahoma State, ranked No. 33 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association advances to the conference semifinals where they will play No. 2 Texas.

The competition did not start well for CU from the beginning dropping the doubles points at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. In singles, the Cowboys, who defeated CU at the Kittredge Tennis Courts, 4-3 last Sunday, had little trouble with the Buffs in their second match up a week later.

In singles, the Cowboys took straight-set wins at the top three singles slots to clinch the match.

Doubles: 1) Van Elden/Jezek (OSU) vs. Hunter/Tsuda (CU) DNF; 2) Bondarchuk/Spousta (OSU) def. Mink/Dilaj (CU) 8-3; 3) Kuharic/Felipe Diaz (OSU) def. Magnes/Bundalo (CU) 8-2.
