DENVER - The Colorado men's tennis team claimed key singles points at No. 3, No. 4, and at the No. 5 positions along with the doubles point to edge the University of Denver, 4-3, Wednesday evening at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion in Denver.

Colorado won its third straight improving to 5-12 on the season, while the Pioneers win streak snaps at five matches and fall to 14-7.

"I didn't think our team played that well," said CU head coach Sam Winterbotham. "I thought Denver competed very well and my hat is off to them."

After securing the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 position, led by the tandems of Bucky Mink/Maciej Dilaj, and Marko Bundalo/Jon Magnes by identical 8-6 margins, the Buffaloes rallied at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 slots to take a 4-3 win.

At No. 3 singles, Bundalo won his third straight match edging Hans Peter Gaber, 6-4, 7-6; Mink rallied at No. 4 taking a three-set winner over Vikto Zettholm, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3; at No. 5, freshman Chad Tsuda snapped a personal losing streak of seven matches and eased past Jason Tan, 6-0, 6-4.

"Marko and Chad were outstanding in singles," Winterbotham said. "Marko played tremendous and it's the best I've seen him handle himself on the court. He did a great job of recovering his mental side of the game."

CU takes to the road this weekend traveling to Houston to play Louisiana-Lafayette (April 12 at 1 p.m.) and the University of Rice (April 13, 10 a.m.).
