ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? University of Colorado men’s tennis student-athletes Chad Tsuda and Marcos Digliodo lost in their opening round match of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Indoor Championships, Thursday morning.

The CU duo received an At-Large bid hosted by the University of Michigan, fell to the NCAA defending champions from Stanford, KC Corkery and Sam Warburg, 8-4. It was only the second loss of the fall season for Tsuda/Digliodo in six matches.

“It was a competitive match and our guys came out a little nervous,” said CU head Sam Winterbotham of the elite field. “Chad and Marcos are not used to playing on this stage. Hopefully they will learn from this experience and be playing in NCAA Championships (in May).”

Tsuda, a junior from Boulder, and Digliodo, a sophomore from Argentina, are one of 16 doubles teams competing this weekend. They will play in the consolation backdraw Friday morning against Ivan Angulo Carrasco and Ricardo Omanna of the College of Santa Fe. The Santa Fe tandem lost to TCU in their opening round match.
