Junior Allie Griffin has been named to the 2004 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Central Region first team the organization announced on Tuesday.

 
Griffin, a 6-0 right side hitter from Baton Rouge, La., is CU's 14th first team all-region pick and the eighth different CU player to be honored. The Buffaloes have produced at least one all-region player for eight-straight seasons.

A 2004 All-Big 12 Conference selection, Griffin
led Colorado in kills with 420, ranking 12th on the Buffs’ single-season list. She also showed her versatility by ranking second on the team in digs and third in blocks during the regular season. Griffin was fifth in the Big 12 in kills (4.27 kpg) in 2004 and is the Buff’s active career leader in blocks with 189.

 
Colorado finished the 2004 season at 14-14, its 17th straight season with a record of .500 or better. The Buffaloes also advanced to the NCAA tournament for the 14th time in school history and 13th in the past 14 years.
