August 26, 2004

I don't even really know where to begin.  In the middle of last nights match, down 20-12 and two games to one, I was thinking this entry would be more of a reflection of my career and the excitment of the future of my new career, but I guess it will have to wait a couple of more days.

Somehow we managed to overcome the deficit and pulled out a victory in five games against a good Greek team and 10,000 screeming Greek fans.  We just kept telling ourselves that we weren't going to give up and give them the match, that they had to earn it.  Little by little, they let us back in.  What an exciting way to earn the right to play for a medal.  The only bummer of the whole thing is we really have no time to celebrate the win.  We didn't get home until about 12:00 am and after therapy, ice bath to try to get some life back in my legs, and some food, it was 2:00 am and we had to try to get a few hours of sleep. Now we have to focus on Brazil.

Today we have an apearance on the Today Show, some training and more therapy. Hopefully we can play a little better and challenge Brazil for a spot in the gold medal match.
