TSUDA/DIGLIODO BEGIN SPRING AS THE NO. 33 DOUBLES TANDEM

BOULDER ? The University of Colorado men’s tennis team is less than a week away from beginning its 2005 spring season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Region Team Championships at Boise State University, and the Buffaloes will participate as the No. 74th nationally ranked school.
The Buffaloes, seeded second will join UNLV (fourth seed), No. 33 New Mexico (three seed), and No. 42 Boise State (top seed) at the Boas Indoor Facility in the four-team regional. The preseason national rank of No. 74 is the first for a CU men’s team in over a decade.
In addition to the entire team earning a national ranking, the doubles team of Chad Tsuda and Marcos Digliodo earned perhaps a CU first in quite some time by being named the No.33rd ranked doubles team by the ITA. In the first national poll of the season released on Jan. 11, the CU duo is 33rd out of 60 schools.
Tsuda/Digliodo went 4-3 last fall, but more impressively earned a spot at the ITA National Indoor Championships at the University of Michigan last November.
Tsuda, a junior from Boulder, and Digliodo, a sophomore from Argentina were one of 16 doubles teams competing.
After the Mountain Regional at Boise State, the CU men return home to host the University of Denver Pioneers at the Meadow Creek Country Club, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.
