Women?s Tennis Tabs Three Singles, One Doubles in Central Regional

BOULDER ? The University of Colorado women’s tennis team placed three individual singles players and one doubles team among the fall central regional rankings announced this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The rankings are based on the fall results that the women competed in from September through November. There are eight regions in women’s tennis with CU competing in the Central.
Senior Jessica Vanderdys, freshman Monica Milewski and sophomore Veera Nurmi all were ranked among the Central Region singles top-30.
Vanderdys went 10-3 during the fall season came in at No. 5; Milewski went 9-3 in fall tournament play, was No. 10; and Nurmi, who won nine of 13 singles matches was No. 19.
In doubles, Milewski and Vanderdys teamed up for a 5-1 fall record was No. 12 out of 15 tandems.
The Colorado women begin the spring dual season next month with four consecutive home matches throughout the month of January starting with Air Force, Jan. 18 (4 p.m.) and Denver, Jan. 20 (6:30 p.m.). Both matches are the Harvest House.
