Elsewhere in singles play, Marcos Digliodo won his 25th match of his career and first win at No. 1 singles with a narrow 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Matt Rychlik. Junior Marko Bundalo saw his first action at No. 2 singles this spring and triumphed 6-1, 6-2 over Teemu Syrjaren.
“We wanted to give them (DePaolo, Quibell, Rofel, and Yemm) an opportunity to play, and they are an important part of the team,” said head coach Sam Winterbotham tonight. “I’m very pleased. I think we came through very well and (our team) worked very hard.”
