TEAM: For the second time this season, CU had two players with over 20+ plus each (at Texas Tech, Nebraska) ... CU scored 61 points in the second half at TTU. The last time CU tallied 60 in a half was against Stetson (Nov. 24, 2002) ... The bench has scored 52 points in each of the last three games (17.3 ppg.) ... CU is 7-18 over the last three season conference road games ... CU recorded a school record 17 treys vs. the Cowboys breaking the mark set in 2001. OSU/CU combined for a CU and it is believed a conference record for two teams (30) ... Coach Patton teams are 13-3 since 1996-97 and 1-1 this season when scoring 90 or more points ... Against OSU, CU had five players with 10 or more points, third time this season ... CU has used TEN different starting lineups and leads the Big 12 in blocked shots (5.83).

SCOUTING THE WLDCATS - Kansas State enters todayGÇÖs matinee with a 3-4 record in Big 12 play and winners of two of its last three. Jeremiah Massey ranks fourth in the conference among scorers (17.3 ppg.) and most recently was named the Big 12/Phillips 66 Player of the Week (his second honor this year). K-State is 11-2 at home with losses to Texas Tech and Rutgers. Head Coach Jim Wooldridge is in his fifth year in Manhattan (64-70) and 18th season overall (293-217).

CU vs. KANSAS STATE - The Wildcats have dominated the series against CU since 1934 (87-42). However in recent memory, Coach Patton teams are 13-6 against todayGÇÖs opponent including the last three wins in a row, including a season sweep of the Wildcats last season. At Manhattan, Patton is 5-4, while at home his teams are 7-1. Both schoolGÇÖs have met twice at the Big 12 Tournament and each has won once (you remember, when CU won back on March 13, 2003 in Dallas? Please refer to page 195 of the CU media guide under buzzer beaters).

LAST TIME OUT - Jarrius Jackson scored a career-high 25 points to lead Texas Tech to a 97-90 win over Colorado on Wednesday night. Tech took its largest lead at 63-38 with 12:39 left, but Colorado put together a couple of runs to get back in the game and eventually cut the lead to four points with 32 seconds left. Richard Roby scored a career high 29 points, Marcus Hall added 24 and Chris Copeland got 10 for the Buffaloes (game story and box, page 32).

SEE THE 3, BE THE 3 - This season CU has launched the 3-point attempt 365 times. After 19 games, CU is averaging 19.2 attempts, while making just under seven a game (6.8). In its last two games, the Buffaloes have taken 59 shots from the arc and making 29 (.492). HereGÇÖs where CU ranks all-time in school history in attempts and made.

65th BEST HOOPS PROGRAM - According to the latest edition of Street & SmithGÇÖs, CU is the 65th greatest program of all time. Kentucky tops the list, followed by UCLA and North Carolina. Other Big 12 schools residing in the top-100 are: Kansas (4th), Oklahoma State (13th), Kansas State (22nd), Texas (23rd), Oklahoma (24th), Missouri (38th), and Iowa State (84th).

ROBY AMONG GREATNESS - Freshman guard Richard Roby is setting his mark among the all-time greats at CU. Roby ranks fourth among the top freshmen scorers in Buffs history:

FORMER HOOPSTER HODGES A TV STAR - On February 16, former Buff basketballer Poncho Hodges will star as the "principle character" in that eveningGÇÖs episode of the long running NBC television series "Law and Order."  The episode will be titled "The Sixth Man," and PonchoGÇÖs character name is Silas Inwood, a professional basketball player accused of murdering an over zealous fan.   After Poncho left the University of Colorado, he was in camp with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 1993-94 preseason but was one of the final players cut. Afterwards he played professional basketball for six years, in several of the top ranking European and Asian leagues.  Poncho retired from professional basketball in 2000, and afterwards he began pursuing a career in acting. Since then Poncho has appeared in several independent films, a documentary, several short films, in an interactive military training film, the latter designed to instruct soldiers deployed to hot zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan in the art of urban and dessert warfare. Recently, Poncho wrapped production on a science fiction action adventure feature film "The Other Side", which is scheduled for release in 2005 (visit the official "The Other Side" website; http://www.entertheotherside.com/; PonchoGÇÖs character name is "OZ").  Poncho is also expected to be in Colorado for the NBA All-Star game on February 20.

DOUBLE VISION - With his recent double-double, junior forward Chris Copeland has a team-best five of CUGÇÖs seven doubles. Earlier this season, Copeland and Richard Roby each recorded a double-double in the home win over Northwestern. The last time CU had a pair of double-doubles was Jan. 17, 2004 at home against Iowa State (CU, 88-70), David Harrison 16 pts., 10 reb., Lamar Harris 10 pts., 19 rebounds.

CU IN 8th PLACE - In the final fall NACDA/United States Sports Academy DirectorsGÇÖ Cup Standings, the Colorado is in eighth place as the gears switch into the winter sports competitions. Notre Dame leads a tight race with 337 points, followed by Michigan (333), Stanford (332) and Duke (327) as just 10 points separate the top four schools. The fifth through eighth schools are bunched together by just 22 points: UCLA (5th, 297), Maryland (6th, 280), Ohio State (7th, 286) and Colorado (8th, 275).

FROSH LEADER - Freshman Richard Roby is making huge strides during his initial season leading the Buffaloes in scoring at 15.3 ppg. He has scored in double figures in 17 of 19 games with 19 starts. Not since the 1995-96 season has a freshman led CU in scoring (Chauncey Billups, 17.9 ppg.). Roby also leads CU in steals (33), minutes played (30.4), field goals made (106), 3-pointers made (37) and ranks third in rebounds (4.6). Roby has also led the team in rebounding four and a half time.
