TAMING TIGERS ON BUFFS AGENDA FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT

QUICKLY...The University of Colorado (8-12, 1-8 Big 12 Conference) returns home from a two-game road trip to host the University of Missouri (7-13, 1-8 Big 12) on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. MST in the Coors Events Conference Center. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain with Keith Bleyer on the call and Charles Johnson providing the color commentary.
BUFFS ON THE AIR...Colorado womenGÇÖs basketball regular and post season games are broadcast live on KKZN AM 760, BoulderGÇÖs Progressive Talk station. Tim Smile will handle play by play duties and is joined by USA BasketballGÇÖs Carol Callan with the color commentary.
31ST SEASON...Colorado is in its 31st season of varsity womenGÇÖs basketball sporting an all-time record of 585-325 (.644). The Buffaloes have made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances, all since 1988, including six Sweet 16 appearances and three trips to the Elite Eight (1993, 1995 & 2002).
BUFFS SEARCHING FOR SECOND LEAGUE WIN...Colorado lost its fifth straight game in Big 12 play with a 72-62 setback at Texas A&M on Feb. 5. The Buffs, who hadnGÇÖt lost five straight since the 1999-2000 season, are 1-8 in the Big 12, tied with Oklahoma State and Missouri for 10th place in the league standings. The Buffaloes will be looking to avoid their first six game losing streak since the 1984-85 season when they host Missouri on Wednesday. ColoradoGÇÖs lone Big 12 win this year came against the Tigers in Columbia on Jan. 18 (56-51). Sophomore forward Jasmina Ilic has taken over the team scoring lead at 10.1 points per game and is also averaging a team-best 12.1 points during the league season. Ilic also has a team-leading 26 3-point field goals. Senior point guard Veronica Johns-Richardson is second on the squad in scoring (10.0 ppg) and paces the Buffaloes in steals (42) and assists (62). Sophomore forward Anna Nedovic tops the Buffaloes in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and is just one point behind Johns-Richardson in the scoring column averaging 10 per contest. The freshman duo of forward Jackie McFarland and center Kara Richards have nearly identical outputs, combining for 19 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Richards, who has started all 20 games, is averaging 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and leads the Buffs in field-goal percentage (.476, 78x164). McFarland, a two-time Big 12 Rookie of the Week, is averaging 9.5 points and is second on the squad at 6.2 rebounds per game. Junior Whitney Law is sixth on the squad in the scoring column at 6.8 points per game and tops Colorado in both free-throw percentage (.750, 18x24) and 3-point field-goal percentage (.417, 15x36).
