Second Annual ?Healthy Kids Day? Saturday

In what is a national student-athlete event, CU’s “Healthy Kids Day” is an outreach to children in the Boulder/Denver metro area designed with the purpose of promoting and educating about the benefits of a fit lifestyle and how sports contribute to this goal.
At the event, children will have an opportunity to participate in different "fun stations" along with current CU athletes from sports including ? but not limited to ? basketball, football and soccer. The children will rotate between each post, learning (by doing) basic athletic skills or conditioning/fitness exercises.
In addition, there will also be health-related booths where parents and children can receive information on the importance of exercise, fitness and nutrition.
The experience is intended for youngsters up to age 13; if a child is under 6 years, a parent must accompany him or her throughout the stations. The first 500 kids will receive free t-shirts, lunch from Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba's Italian Grill and other cool prizes. The first 300 kids to complete all the activities will be given an opportunity to stretch with the football team as players warm up around 12:30 p.m.
The spring football game will begin at 1:00 p.m. and is also located on the practice fields, which are down the hill north of Folsom Field and west of Folsom Street. Both the game and “Healthy Kids Day” are free and open to the public and media. Temporary bleachers will be set up on the fields to accommodate spectators.
Following the football game fans can come meet and get autographs from the Buff football players, as well as other CU student-athletes.
“Healthy Kids Day” is being presented by the CU Parents Association, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, The Red Cross, Gatorade,
