BOULDER ? The University of Colorado men’s tennis team ranked No. 57 nationally travels to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Indoor Championships hosted by Boise State University, Saturday, Jan. 21.

 

The Buffaloes join the host Broncos, in addition to Utah and Brigham Young. The teams will be competing for a bid to the National Indoor Championships in Seattle, Wash., Feb. 17-20.

 

The tournament will be played in dual format, with Boise State (No. 28) and Utah (No. 72) playing at 9:30 a.m., and Colorado and Brigham Young (No. 63) facing off at 12:30 p.m. The first team to score four points in each semifinal match will move onto the championship match at 6:00 p.m.

 

All matches will be played at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex.

 

The tournament will play host to five players currently ranked by the ITA. CU’s Eric Molnar, a junior, is ranked No. 60 individually, and No. 46 in doubles with senior Chad Tsuda.

 

Bronco sophomore Luke Shields is currently ranked No. 13 individually. Shields and senior All-American teammate Thomas Schoeck are the nation’s No. 7 doubles team. Sophomore Brent Werbeck is ranked No. 89 individually.
