2006 Colorado Football: Game 8 -- Oklahoma

The Colorado Buffaloes (1-6, 1-2 Big 12) got the proverbial monkey off their backs in snapping a 10-game losing streak last Saturday, and will now attempt to make it two-in-a-row over Big 12 South Division members in traveling to Norman to the face the No. 20 Oklahoma Sooners (4-2, 1-1 Big 12) in a 5:10 p.m. MDT kickoff at Gaylord Family Stadium... Fox Sports Net will televise the game nationally, with Joel Meyers (play-by-play), Dave Lapham (analyst) and Jim Knox (sidelines) to call the action... OU is ranked 20th in all three major polls, and is No. 22 in the first BCS Standings of the year... The Buffs have lost 12 straight to ranked teams... Last Saturday, Colorado dominated all three phases of the game in defeating Texas Tech 30-6 to earn its first win since last November 5... CU has not yet been eliminated from bowl contention, but itGÇÖs practically BCS or bust for the Buffaloes: if CU wins out and wins the Big 12 North, it must win the title game (it could not go with a 6-7 record); the only other way is to win out but not win the North and go with a 6-6 mark... Oklahoma will be honoring the late Prentice Gautt at halftime of this weekendGÇÖs game; the former Sooner All-American was a great ambassador for college athletics and worked for both the Big 8/12 Conferences until his untimely and sudden passing two years ago... The Oct. 28 Colorado at Kansas game was not selected for television by the Big12 TV partners; it will kick off at 12:00 p.m. MDT...
