2nd Annual Tennis Marathon For Breast Cancer Raises $16,124

BOULDER ? University of Colorado head women’s tennis coach Nicole Kenneally said Wednesday that the 2nd Annual Tennis Marathon was a success and she is looking forward to even a better turnout next year.
“In our second year we raised $16,124,” said Kenneally. “We doubled our efforts raising only $7,000 last year. The outpouring support from the community, turned into a tremendous success and we’re looking forward to the event becoming bigger and better next year.”

With over 16 teams participating, the event included 200 people in attendance.
“I think it’s an event that will be definitely be on the tennis community map in the front range and get more and more people involved,” she said. “This year our goal was definitely reached and exceeded and it could not have happened without everyone’s help and support.”
All proceeds from the Tennis Marathon will go to HealthLinks Clinic, Inc., and HealthLinks Foundation. HealthLinks Clinic, Inc., is a non-profit therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation facility that provides opportunities for healthy cancer survivorship. HealthLinks combines post-surgical physical therapy with medically supervised exercise programs, lymphedema treatment, nutrition and lifestyle counseling.
Last year’s inaugural event had 125 participants and raised $7,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Sponsors of this year’s event were Galaxi Trading Company, Contrino Direct Marketing, Millennium Harvest House and Cricket Communications. 1031 Solutions was the title sponsor for the Tennis Marathon.
