Deep pass to Patrick Williams is caught at the KU 32, but then CU is whistled for an illegal forward pass as Jackson had passed the line of scrimmage.  Kansas declines the penalty and the game is over.

Reesing fumbles, forced by Brandon Nicholas and it's caught in the air by Ryan Walters. He returns it 95 yards for the touchdown. Colorado will go for two and calls timeout. That is Colorado's first return of any kind for a touchdown this season. Barnett drops the two point conversion open in the end zone.

Reesing scrambles out of the pocket and gets loose for a 63 yard run to the Colorado two yard line.  Terrence Wheatley tackles him along with Gardner McKay.

Colorado picks up five yards on 3rd and two for their third-third down conversion of the game.  On first down Jackson is sacked from behind and fumbles, Colorado recovers.  Play is under review to see if Jackson was in the act of throwing. Reesing throws deep for Jeff Foster, and Lionel Harris is beaten on the route so he jumps up into Foster's face, drawing a pass interference call.  It was a perfect throw.

Big gain for Kansas as Reesing passes to Jake Sharp.  Ball on the CU 34.

Colorado ball 3rd and 7, Kansas declines a pass interference call so it's fourth and seven.  DiLallo to punt.  It's a 42 yarder.  KU gets it on their own 24.

Colorado to go for it on fourth and one.  Jackson tries the QB sneak to get the yard, but he is denied by Arist Wright.  KU ball on their own 13 yard line.  Reesing will be back in at quarterback on the drive. 12:05 mark of the 3rd quarter.

KU's Talib has a Bernard Jackson pass in his hands for an interception but sees the endzone before he pulls it in and drops it.

START OF THIRD QUARTER.  New QB in for Kansas is Todd Reesing, a true freshman from Austin, Texas.  He gets a nice ovation as he burns his redshirt.  His first attempt is incomplete.

Nuggets: Brad Jones' interception was the first of his career.  CU as of halftime has committed just eight penalties over the last 14 quarters.  Paul Backowski got his first career start. 

Colorado has now extended it's scoring streak to 219 consecutive games.  It marks the 153rd time the Buffs have extended that streak in the first quarter.  CU now ties Hawai'i for the 11th-longest streak ever.  Abe Wright's sack made him the first Buff to get at least 10 sacks since Ronnie Woolfork had 13.5 in 1992.  He has 19.5 for his career and moves into seventh all time.

Injury Report:  James Cox has broken the thumb on his throwing hand and is out for the game.  Patrick Devenny will now change to No. 18 and will back up Bernard Jackson. 

Colorado is now 18 of 25 in the red zone.  That makes seven touchdowns and 11 field goals.  Mason Crosby is 15-21 on field goals and has 56 points on the season.  He is now 5-6 from 20-29 and 6-7 from 30-39 yards.

Offensive stats: Colorado 10 first downs.  135 total yards of offense, 44 passing and 91 rushing.  Hugh Charles has 50 yards on eight carries.  Bernard Jackson is 5 of 10 for 32 yards.  Alvin Barnett leads the way with 26 yards receiving on three catches.    CU is just 1 of 8 on third down.

Defensive stats:  Thaddaeus Washington leads Colorado with five tackles.  Brad Jones and Terrence Wheatley each have an INT, and Abraham Wright has one sack.  Wright now has 10 sacks for 86 yards of loss.

Special teams stats: DiLallo has punted three times for an average of 45.0 yards and a long of 51.  Two of them inside the 20.
