(7:44) The Buffs get to the Iowa State 47-yard line, where, on fourth down, Crosby attempts a 65-yard field goal. The kick fell just below the crossbar. No good.

Moses receives the kickoff at the 1-yard line and returns it to the 16-yard line. The Cyclones can only advance to the 20, though, and Mike Brandtner punts. McBride receives the punt at the 36-yard line and returns it to the Colorado 44.

Note: Crosby has a field goal in each quarter of today's game, and is one short of tying the CU record of 5 field goals in a day.

The Iowa State kickoff was received by Terry Washington in the end zone and downed for a touchback. On the legs of Holliday and an 18-yard run by Jackson, the Buffs got to the ISU 48-yard line. Runs by Holliday and Charles brought the ball to the 20-yard line. On third-and-9 from the 20-yard line, Jackson was sacked by linebacker Alvin Bowen. Crosby's 42-yard field goal was good.

Note: Today is Holliday's first career 100-yard rushing day.

(0:00) Iowa State scoring drive - 11 plays, 71 yards, 5:01. Colorado 30, Iowa State 10.

Crosby's kickoff was fielded by Moses in the end zone and downed for a touchback. Meyer scrambled twice to give the Cyclones the ball at the 35. On first-and-10 from the 44 yard line, Meyer found R.J. Summerall for a gain of 30 to the Colorado 26-yard line. On third-and-7 from the Colorado 23, the Buffs were flagged for roughing the passer, which moved the ball to the CU 11. On third-and-8 from the 9-yard line, Meyer's pass fell incomplete. Bret Culbertson's 27-yard field goal was good.

Player update: Colorado cornerback Terrence Wheatley was shaken up on the pass to Summerall.

(5:22) Starting at the ISU 39, on the first play, Jackson found Williams open on a route straight up the field for a 39-yard touchdown. Touchdown Colorado. The PAT is good.

Note: Today's announced attendance is 43,056. Also, Williams' touchdown is his first career.

Moses received the kick at the 5-yard line and ran it to the 13, but a holding penalty put the ball at the Iowa State 7-yard line. Kock gave the Cyclones some breathing room, as he brought the ball out to the 18-yard line on two runs. A delay of game penalty, followed by a false start moved the ball back to the 8-yard line. On third-and-11 from the 17, Meyer was sacked by Colorado defensive tackle Maurice Lucas. McBride was hit while trying to field the punt, and the penalty moved the ball to the Iow State 39-yard line.

Note: Lucas' sack was the first in his career.

Note: So far in this game, Crosby has accounted for 11 points, which puts his career total past the 300-point mark, at 301.

(12:06) Jackson found tight end Tyson DeVree on a short pass DeVree turned into a gain of 18. On third-and-7 from the 28, Jackson scrambled to the 24. Crosby's 41-yard field goal was good.

Moses downed Crosby's second half-opening kickoff for a touchback. Thanks to the passing of Meyer, the Cyclones drove out to the ISU 37, but after a false start penalty and a Jordan Dizon 11-yard sack, the Cyclones had third-and-20 from the 21-yard line. Meyer passed, but his receiver dropped it. McBride fielded the punt at the CU 31 and returned it to the ISU 49.

Moses downed the Crosby kickoff, and Kock ran to run out the clock.

Note: Holliday's 52-yard rush is a career best, beating out his old record of 40 yards.

(3:03) From the 29-yard line, Jackson scrambled to the ISU 43-yard line, but an illegal block in the back penalty negated the run and put the ball at the CU 40-yard line. The next play, Holliday busted through the line on a 52-yard off-tackle run and rumbled to the Iowa State 8-yard line. On second-and-goal, Jackson found wideout Dusty Sprague on the 2-yard line, but an offensive pass interference call moved the ball back to the 21. On third-and-goal from the 21, the Jackson pass was incomplete and the Buffs were flagged for having an ineligible receiver downfield. The penalty was declined. The 38-yard Crosby field goal is good.

Moses fielded the ball in the end zone and downed it. On third-and-10 from the 20, Meyer scrambled 10 yards for a first down. The Iowa State drive stalled at the ISU 38-yard line, and McBride made a fair catch on the punt at the CU 31-yard line.

Note: The previous drive set records for the longest drive the Buffs have run this year. The previous highs were 14 plays, 85 yards and 6:42.

Taking over on the 4-yard line, Charles gave the Buffs some breathing room on an 11-yard run up the gut. After a Holliday run, Jackson found Crawford at the 25 to give the Buffs third-and-1. Holliday rumbled for the first down and more, gaining 16 and giving the Buffs the ball at the 41-yard line. After a false start penalty, Jackson hit Crawford for a 17-yard gain, putting the ball at the ISU 47. On the next play, Jackson threw toward Barnett, but the ball was bobbled and nearly intercepted. Iowa State challenged the call, but the referees ruled the pass was dropped. On third-and-5 from the Iowa State 28-yard line, Jackson found Williams on the West sideline for a 19-yard gain to the 9-yard line. A holding penalty moved the ball back to the 19-yard line. On a draw, Jackson gained 13 to put the ball at the 6. On third-and-goal from the 5-yard line, Jackson ran a draw for a touchdown. Touchdown, Colorado. The PAT is good. 

On third-and-8 from the CU 48-yard line, a pass from Meyer to Flynn was knocked loose. Buff Chase McBride received the ISU punt at the 2-yard line and returned it to the 9. An illegal block in the back penalty against CU moved the ball to the 4.

(15:00) SECOND QUARTER

Moses received the kickoff at the 2-yard line and returned it to the ISU 30. On a reverse option pass, wideout Austin Flynn threw to Meyer for a 19-yard gain.

Player update: Free safety Ryan Walters is on the CU sideline with a neck stinger. He will return.

Byron Ellis fielded the kickoff at the 1-yard line and returned it to the CU 30-yard line. Mell Holliday ran the first play of the drive off-tackle to the right, gaining 8. After a Charles run, Jackson scrambled the ball into Cyclone territory on a 9-yard run to the left. Jackson again found Barnett open on the left side of the field for a gain of 8 to the ISU 34-yard line. The next play, Jackson found tight end Cody Crawford for a gain of 5 to the 29. An illegal block in the back penalty moved the ball to the ISU 40. On third-and-20 from the 40-yard line, Jackson hit wideout Patrick Williams for a gain of 10 to the 29. The 47-yard Crosby field goal is good.

Milan Moses fielded the Mason Crosby kickoff a yard deep in the end zone and returned it to the ISU 14. Running back Ryan Kock gave the Cyclones their first first down and bulldozed onto the CU side of the field on a 24-yard run. A defensive holding penalty moved the ball to the CU 26-yard line. At third-and-5 from the 21, ISU quarterback Bret Myer found Jon Davis in the back of the end zone. Touchdown, Iowa State. The PAT is good.

Note: CU's opening drive was the 7th time this season the Buffs scored on their first drive and the 221st straight gaime in which the Buffs have scored.

The opening kickoff traveled through the end zone for a touchback. From the 20, Buffs QB Bernard Jackson hit wideout Alvin Barnett on the West sideline for a gain of 38 yards to the Iowa State 42. After an incompletion, Buffs runningback Hugh Charles ran off-tackle for a gain of 16 to the ISU 26. The next play, Jackson hit Barnett for a 26-yard touchdown. Touchdown, Colorado. The PAT is good.

Colorado won the toss and elected to receive. Iowa State will defend the North goal.

The weather: Mostly cloudy skies, 46 degrees, with 4 mph wind coming from the East. The unis: The Buffs are in black jerseys and black pants for today's game. ISU is wearing red helmets, white jerseys and white pants with red stripes down the side.

The history: Colorado leads the series, 46-13-1, and leads the series in Boulder, 22-6-1. Last year, Iowa State won 30-16 in a blustery contest in Ames, Iowa.
