Terry Washington receives the KSU kick and returns it to the Colorado 23-yard line. Jackson scrambles for eight yards to the CU 31. Wideout Stephone Robinson is stopped on a wide reciever reverse for a loss of 13. Isaac Garden punts.

(3:00) The Wildcats take voer and drive to the Colorado 40-yard line. K-State ends the quarter with a pass to wideout Daniel Gonzales to the CU 37. End of first quarter.

(4:57) Colorado takes over at the 30-yard line. The Buffs drive to the KSU 41-yard line, where on fourth down, Crosby's field goal attempt goes wide left. No good.

Player update: Colorado ILB Thaddaeus Washington is in the locker room after his front two teeth were knocked out. His return is questionable.

(8:50) KSU's Yamon Figurs returns the Matt DiLallo punt from the KSU 36-yard line to the 50. A pass from Freeman to Figurs puts the ball into CU territory. Jordan Dizon sacks Freeman for a loss of seven, putting the ball at the CU 46. Freeman hits runningback Leon Patton on an 8-yard screen pass, bringing up fourth-and-1 from the 30. Jeff Snodgrass' field goal attempt bounces off the right upright. No good.

(10:05) The Tim Reyer punt goes through the back of the end zone and the Buffs take over at their 20. After a 7-yard run by Buffs QB Bernard Jackson, the Buffs go three-and-out.

CU kicker Mason Crosby's opening kickoff goes through the back of the end zone. The Wildcats take over at their own 20 and advance to the 32 on a James Johnson carry. A pass from KSU's Josh Freeman to wideout Jordy Nelson puts the ball at the KSU 48. But after a false start penalty, KSU's drive stalls.

(15:00) FIRST QUARTER

Colorado won the toss and deferred to the second half. Kansas State chose to defend the South goal.

The weather: Mostly cloudy skies, 54 degrees, with slight breezes out of the Northeast. The unis: The Buffs are in black jerseys and black pants for today's game. KSU is wearing silver helmets, white jerseys and silver pants with a purple stripe down the side.

The history: Colorado leads the series, 43-17-1, and leads the series in Boulder, 26-4. Last year, Colorado won 23-20 on a last-second 50-yard field goal by placekicker Mason Crosby.
