No. 42 Women?s Tennis Hosts No. 3 Texas, Sunday
BOULDER ? The University of Colorado women’s tennis team takes their three-match winning streak against the No. 3 Texas Longhorns, Sunday, 10 a.m. at the Boulder Country Club.
The Buffaloes, ranked No. 42 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) are 5-1 this season, while the Longhorns (3-3) and coming off an appearance at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis. posting a 3-1 mark. Their lone loss was to top-ranked Stanford, 4-0.
The Longhorns are the 2005 NCAA Championship runner ups and defending Big 12 Conference champions.
CU is coached by seven-year head coach Nicole Kenneally. The Buffs are led by a trio of nationally ranked singles players in Jessica Vanderdys (No. 39), Monica Milewski (No. 56), and Veera Nurmi (No. 84). The Longhorns have the No. 31 ranked doubles team and one singles ranked player.
