SEATTLE - Second-seeded Georgia topped No. 15 seed Colorado 4-0 in Friday's opening round of the USTA-ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championships at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center.

Georgia won the doubles point and got wins in singles from Luis Flores, Matic Omerzel and Antonio Ruiz. Ruiz clinched the match at No. 3 singles when he beat Marko Bundalo 6-4, 6-3.

"On every point we competed with class," said CU head coach Sam Winterbotham. "We had the doubles point on our racquets and I think that would have given us the momentum needed going into singles to maybe cause the upset. Give Georgia credit, they did what champions do."

"I think our guys did a great job out there today," UGA coach Manuel Diaz said. "Colorado is a very good team that really brings it on every point. They're well coached and as focused a team we've played this season."

Today's shutout is Georgia's fourth in five matches this season.

Georgia (5-0) advances to the final eight at the USTA-ITA for the second straight year and 21st time overall. The Buffaloes (4-1) are making their first appearance at these championships.
