Third Annual 'Healthy Kids Day' Saturday

BOULDER ? The University of Colorado athletic department will hold its third annual “Healthy Kids Day” this Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-noon at Folsom Field in an effort to kick off a day of festivities preceding the 2006 spring game at 1:00 p.m.

“Healthy Kids Day” is an outreach to children in the Boulder/Denver metro area designed with the purpose of promoting and educating about the benefits of a fit lifestyle and how sports contribute to this goal.

At the event, children will have the opportunity to meet their favorite CU student-athletes and participate in sports skills and fun fitness stations.

The experience is limited to kids ages 13 and under and the first 500 kids will receive free t-shirts, lunch from Chik-fil-A and other cool prizes.

From 10:30-11:00, kids will also have the opportunity to meet and get autographs from CU football players. At noon, the the Club Seats will be open for people to tour and watch the game from.

The spring football game will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Folsom Field. Both the game and “Healthy Kids Day” are free and open to the public and media. Free parking is available to the public in lot 436 (Colorado & Regent) and lot 169, just north and down the hill from the stadium. Due to the Rocky Mountain Percussion concert that will be occurring at the Coors Events Center, parking will be limited.
