BOULDER ? University of Colorado head cross country coach Mark Wetmore has been named the NCAA Mountain Region Men’s Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA.

 

            Wetmore’s coach of the year honor is the 13th overall as he has been the men’s region coach of the year on nine occasions, and women’s coach of the year four times.  The Colorado men won the regional meet on Nov. 10 to advance to the NCAA Championship and women earned an at-large bid after placing fourth at the same meet.

 

The NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be run Monday, Nov. 19, on the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.  CU’s men’s team is ranked second and will race at 12 p.m. (EST), while the women are rated 22nd heading into the race and will race at 12:58 p.m.

 

The championship will be broadcast live for the first time ever on CSTV. The broadcast will start at 12 p.m. EST and will finish at 1:30 p.m. It will include interviews will several athletes, including CU’s Jenny Barringer. The broadcast will also be streamed live on the internet and will be available at www.ustfccca.org.
