BOULDER ? ABC and ESPN have been using assorted celebrities or alumni from each school to introduce the starting lineups for their college broadcasts in 2007.  But the University of Colorado, thanks to three of its alumni, will definitely broach new territory Friday morning with its game against Nebraska.

Eric Cartman of South Park fame, a popular half-hour cartoon on Comedy Central, highlights players on CU’s offense and defense when ABC introduces the lineups for both teams in the early stages of the game, set for a 10:09 a.m. kickoff at Folsom Field.

The idea was cooked up two months ago between a CU official and ABC producer Chris Pfeiffer, and through the cooperation of Comedy Central and CU alums and South Park Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with their director of animation, Eric Stough, another CU graduate, the rambunctious though fictional fourth grader intros six Buffaloes as only Cartman can.  The creators have Cartman adorning a CU t-shirt.

For the previous four CU games on either network this year, former players Kordell Stewart (Florida State game), Darian Hagan (Kansas State) and Mason Crosby (Kansas) spotlighted the lineups, and for the Texas Tech game, head coach Dan Hawkins’ wife Misti was bestowed the honor.

About 1,500 tickets remain for the game, mostly premium seating ($95-$300).  Tickets are available on CUBuffs.com or at Tickets West outlets at King Soopers, with the Folsom Field ticket windows to open at 6 a.m. for sales and will call pickups.  Also, with Wednesday's snowfall and Friday's forecast for the possibility of the same, the grass parking lots on campus will not be open, so permit holders need to head to their alternate areas.
