MBB Hosts Grambling State, Saturday

BOULDER ? The University of Colorado men’s basketball team will close out the home non-conference portion of the 2007-08 schedule hosting three games in 10 days beginning with the Grambling State Tigers, Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Coors Events Center.

The game is not televised, however can be heard on 760-AM and Sirius Satellite radio channel 127 beginning at 2 p.m.

The Buffaloes/Tigers match up with be first-ever between the two schools. Grambling State (0-6) hails from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The remaining two games are Jan. 4, 2008 when the Buffs host SMU (4-4) for the first time since the 1979-80 season and on Jan. 7, the Buffaloes will play Tulsa (4-4) for the first time since the 1986-87 season.

CU is led by leading scorers Richard Roby (15.1 ppg.) and Marcus Hall (13.5 ppg.).

GSU is led by senior forward Anthony Williams, who is nearly averaging a double-double with 19.2 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. Three of Grambling State’s losses are by an average of six points.

The Buffaloes (6-5) play for the first time in seven days and broke a three-game losing skid defeating Colorado State, 73-70 back on Dec. 22. Four players reached double figures led by Richard Roby. Roby notched his seventh career double-double with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance.
