MBB Travels to Wyoming Saturday
The game will be televised on the Mountain-West Sports Network and also be broadcasted by CUGÇÖs radio tandem of Mark Johnson and Charles Johnson on KKZN 760-AM. The game is also featured on Sirius Satellite radio channel 123.
Game time is 2 p.m.
The Buffaloes (5-3) have won three of their last four games and travel to Laramie for the first time since the 1998-99 season. SaturdayGÇÖs game will be the third of four match ups for CU against the Mountain West Conference this season. CU has beaten Air Force (60-50) and lost to New Mexico (54-47) and will travel to Colorado State on Dec. 22 to close out the road non-conference portion of the schedule.
The Cowboys are 3-3 and have defeated CU in their last three games dating back to 1997.
UW is led by junior guard Brandon Ewing and is the team leader in scoring (18.8 ppg.), field goal percentage (.529), 3-pointers made (14), assists (29) and steals (9).
CU first-year head coach Jeff Bzdelik is 3-3 all-time against the Cowboys, previously coached by Steve McClain, currently a CU assistant.
McClain will be making his return to Laramie where he was the head coach of the Cowboys from 1998-2007. During his tenure, McClain won the second most games in school history with 157, posted a home record of 102-26 (.790) and won the most Mountain West Conference regular season games than any other coach with 60. McClain also led UW to three NITs and one NCAA appearance.
The Buffs are led by senior guard Marcus Hall. In his last four games, Hall is averaging 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. The Houston, Texas native is shooting 22-of-45 (.489) from the field and 19-of-23 (.826) from the free throw line.
Colorado returns home next Wednesday, Dec. 12 against the University of New Orleans. It will be the first-ever meeting with the Privateers (4-1) who reside in the Sun Belt Conference.
