Sunday’s men’s and women’s giant slalom races at Eldora Ski Resort west of Boulder, were cancelled due to high winds plaguing the ski area.  These were make-up races from last month’s Montana State Invitational in Bozeman.

Gusts reached as high as 70 miles per hour earlier in the day and remained consistent through the morning, forcing cancellation of the men’s race (called at 10 a.m.) and the women’s race (called just before 11 a.m.).

The women were to ski at 8:30, the men at 10 with the second runs in the early afternoon.

The races will now made up this Thursday (Feb. 8) in Taos, N.M., one day ahead of the New Mexico Invitational in Red River and Santa Fe.
