? University of Colorado junior forward Jackie McFarland has received honorable mention to the 2006-07 Associated Press women’s All-America basketball team announced by a national media panel on Wednesday.

A native of Derby, Kan., McFarland topped the Big 12 Conference and ranked third in NCAA Division I in field-goal shooting in 2007 at 60.5 percent. She also led the Big 12 in minutes (36.4 mpg) and was second on the league charts in scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounding (10.8 rpg) and 10th in blocked shots (1.2 bpg).

McFarland was one of just two players in the Big 12 with 18 or more double-doubles this season and missed five other opportunities by a single point or rebound.  Her 37 career double-doubles tie for second on the Buffs’ all-time list and she is one of just six players in CU history with career numbers eclipsing 1,300 points and 700 rebounds.

A 2007 All-Big 12 first team selection, McFarland’s 325 rebounds this season were the most by a junior in team history and the fifth-best team mark overall. Her 10.8 rebounds per game rank as the third best mark on the team single-season charts while her 17.8 points per game are seventh. McFarland set a single-season school record with 161 made free-throws and tied a single-game record with 14 free throws made against Texas Tech in the first round of the 2007 Big 12 Championship.

She was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the season’s opening weekend (Nov. 13) and named to the Coors Classic All-Tournament Team. McFarland is also a two-time Academic All-American and two-time Academic All-Big 12 first team pick.
