Buff Blitz: Conrad Obi
CUBuffs.com will feature Q&As with several incoming freshmen throughout camp to acquaint Buff fans with CU’s newcomers. On Saturday, Sports Information Student Assistant Niko Strzepek caught up with freshman defensive end Conrad Obi after morning practice.
NS: How was the second day in full pads?
CO: There was a lot we put in. Like Coach Hawkins said, we just have to keep with it, stay focused and we will get it done.
NS: How is it working with the veterans in camp?
CO: It’s been good. It’s a lot different from the other group, but it’s all a learning process.
NS: Has the altitude caught up to you yet?
CO: No, not today, but the running will help.
NS: How does
CO: I like it a lot. You have the mountains and all the other nice things. So it’s real nice out here.
NS: What are some fun activities you have done this summer?
CO: Just hanging out, meeting new people and learning the area.
NS: What are some of your hobbies?
CO: I like playing video games and studying the playbook.
NS: What’s your favorite video game?
CO: I just got the new PS3, so NCAA (Football ?08). I’m in it (laughing).
NS: What is your favorite movie?
CO: Dumb and Dumber. Nothing tops it.
NS: What about TV, any favorite shows?
CO: Making the Band on MTV. But we don’t get to watch TV in camp because there is no time. I also watch BET and ESPN.
NS: What are some other sports that you like? Did you play any in high school?
CO: Soccer and basketball. I like basketball a lot and I played it for a little while.
NS: When did you start playing sports?
CO: In high school I played basketball for two years. I started playing football my sophomore year.
NS: What are some things that you do to rest?
CO: I’ll take nap or fish.
NS: Have you been able to spend time with family this summer?
CO: Not so much, I have been focused on football. I love them a lot, so when the season is over I’ll probably go back to
NS: What would you choose: Pepsi or Coca-Cola?
CO: Pepsi (laughing).
NS: Environment is what you’re studying in school, what do you want to do with it when you’re done?
CO: I want to help different countries, help the environment in different places and help here (in
