BOULDER ? The University of Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team will host two games over the next four days beginning with the SMU Mustangs this Friday, Jan. 4, and next Monday, Jan. 7 against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Both games will be at the Coors Events Center.

The Mustangs are coached by former North Carolina great Matt Doherty, who enters his second year in Dallas. As a player under legendary head coach Dean Smith from 1980-84, Doherty became only the second player in ACC history to post 1,000 points, 400 rebounds and 400 assists.

CU holds a 3-1 advantage in the series and have not played the Mustangs since the 1979-80 season.

Friday night is also the first of two back-to-back match ups for the Buffaloes against Conference USA. After playing SMU on Friday, CU returns to the home court to play the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (7-4), Monday at 7 p.m.
