FOR STARTERS (individual): Richard Roby ranks first with 106 career starts. In his last two games, Roby is averaging 22 points, 6.5 rpg., is 11-of-12 from the free throw line (.917) and shooing 13-of-25 from the field (.520). He’s also 7-of-13 from the 3-pt. arc (.539) ? Marcus Hall is the 26th player in school history to score over 1,000 points in his career 1,008. He stands 13 points from passing Chauncey Billups (1,020). Hall has a career-best 41 steals in a season and his 37 3-pointers is his second most in a season ? Dwight Thorne has started the last two games (4.5 ppg., 2.5 rpg., 20.5 minutes per game ? Cory Higgins netted his 11th double-digit game of the season, fifth in conference play. He has 10 steals and nine assists in his last four games ? Marcus King-Stockton is averaging just under two blocks in eight Big 12 games (ranks second in Big-only games) ? Roby netted his eighth 20+ point effort of the season at OSU; since Jan. 1st is averaging 18.3 ppg. ? TEAM LEADERS: CU’s leading scorers are Richard Roby (17.0 ppg.) and Marcus Hall (12.6 ppg.); leader on the glass is Roby (6.5 rpg.); Hall tops the team in assists (3.8 apg.), steals (1.9 spg.), 37 3-pointers and minutes played (36.7).

 

CU vs. OU: Oklahoma holds a 85-47 advantage since the series began in 1948, however, Colorado has a 30-26 edge with games in Boulder. CU has won the last two games at the Events Center with victories in 2004 and 2006. Since the Big 12 inception in 1996-97, CU has a 3-2 edge  in Boulder (81-to-78.6).

 

LAST GAME REVIEW: Richard Roby scored a game-high 22 points and Marcus Hall added 12, however Oklahoma State ran to a 64-63 victory holding on in the second half after the Buffaloes scored a conference high 47 points in the second half. James Anderson scored 16 points, helping the Cowboys end a six-game losing streak ? it’s longest in more than two decades. Oklahoma State (11-11, 2-6 Big 12) won for the 21st time in its last 22 home games against Colorado (9-13, 1-7) in a matchup of teams that entered tied for last place in the conference. Marcus Hall scored points and Cory Higgins added 11.

SEASONED VETERAN: Aside from Hall and Roby dominating the headlines freshman Cory Higgins looks to have a bright future in black and gold. In his eight Big 12 games, Higgins ranks third in scoring 9.9 ppg., second in rebounding at 4.5 rpg., first from the free throw line (.760) and tied for second in treys (19).

4th all-time & CLIMBING: Richard Roby keeps moving up on the school scoring list with 1,830 points. After netting his third 27-point effort of the season, he stands 47 points from passing Shaun Vandiver (1,876). Vandiver played three years from 1989-91 scoring 1,876 points in 91 games (20.6 ppg.).

 

AT HOME vs. RANKED TEAMS: Since the 2002-03 to 2006-07 seasons (five years), CU has defeated at least one ranked opponent at the Coors Events Center. Please turn to page 169 of the media guide to see the year-by-year breakdown of home, away and neutral court records versus the nation’s elite.

 

HALL or ROBY: Through 22 games, Richard Roby and Marcus Hall have led the majority of games in scoring. Roby has led 12 times, Hall seven times, while Cory Higgins has done it in back-to-back games (at Texas A&M, Nebraska).  Xavier Silas (24 pts. vs. Florida A&M) has performed it once. In his 12 games, Roby averages 23.8 ppg., while Hall is 18.1 ppg.

 

FT SHOOTING: In recent years, CU was not a very good free throw shooting team. This year, the Buffaloes are shooting almost 70 percent (.681), a feat only accomplished once in the last 12 years (2000-01, .715). 

 

IRON MAN: Marcus Hall has five games this season playing all 40 minutes. Overall, in the Big 12 Conference, who have played more 40 minute games other than Hall are: Martin Zeno of Texas Tech, six 40-minute games (3 conference and 3 non-conference). D.J. BUFF BITS: Cory Higgins had a season-best five steals, four in the first half at Iowa State; he has 11 steals in his last five games. His five steals were a CU high in the 12-year conference history vs. the Cyclones ? Marcus Hall scored a season-best 28 points against Missouri and his 11 fields goals made are the most by a CU player since Richard Roby made 11 FGs, Jan. 25, 2006 vs. Nebraska (30 pts.) ? Roby’s season-best 14 rebounds against Mizzou tied his output of 14 boards earlier this season against New Orleans; his 13 defensive vs. Missouri was a career-high ? Richard Roby has tallied double-figures 20 of 22 games, Marcus Hall 15 of 20 games ? Hall, Higgins and Roby have started every game (22) ? Hall, Higgins, Knutson and Thorne II are the only players with more assists than turnovers ? Over the last two seasons, Roby has made the most 3-pointers (71), Xavier Silas is second with 63, Hall (37), Cory Higgins (20), Levi Knutson (18), and Dwight Thorne (13) ? 3-Point Streak: Dating back to the 2001-02 season, CU has made a 3-pointer in 185s consecutive games. Last time they failed to make at least one trey was Jan. 16, 2002 against Iowa State in Boulder. The Buffs won 63-61.

 

REDSHIRT YEAR: Sophomore forward Jeremy Williams will be redshirted this season and will return next year with three full years of eligibility. He was academically ineligible for the fall semester. Williams averaged 7.7 points and 4.6 rpg. last season with 18 starts.
