BOULDER ? University of Colorado men’s basketball student-athlete Caleb Patterson has requested to be released from his scholarship announced Monday by head coach Jeff Bzdelik.

 

Patterson, a 6’11” freshman center/forward played in 14 games with one start averaging 8.1 minutes a game for the Buffaloes during the 2007-08 season. He averaged 1.4 points and 1.4 rebounds a game.

 

“We are disappointed that Caleb has elected to leave our program,” Bzdelik said. “Caleb is a special young man that we think highly of and we wish him nothing but the best for his future endeavors.”

 

Patterson will continue his education on the Boulder campus for the reminder of the spring semester and will look to transfer to another school this summer for the 2008-09 season. He is an open option major in CU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
