BOULDER ? University of Colorado coach head football coach Dan Hawkins continues his travels around the state next week, as he heads to the northeast corner of the state this Monday (May 12) to visit the Caliche School in Iliff and a lunch time meet and greet and radio remote in Sterling.

Hawkins will be joined by Dusty Sprague, the former CU wide receive who graduated last December with a degree in business management; Sprague finished his career ninth all-time in receptions and receiving yards at Colorado.  Sprague prepped at Holyoke High School, which is about 45 miles east of Sterling.

Hawkins and Sprague will address a school assembly (K-8th Grade) at Caliche, which also sports “Buffaloes” as its nickname for its sports teams.

From there, the pair will make the short jaunt over to Sterling, where KNNG-Radio is sponsoring a radio remote between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Valley Restaurant (102 Hays Avenue).  “Colorado Corner Live” with Ben Blecha (104.7 FM) will broadcast live from the event, which is open to the public.  Hawkins and Sprague will take questions both on the air as well as off, sign autographs, participate in some trivia and Q&A; the Valley will have luncheon specials for those who attend.

The first stop of CU’s “Hawk Talk Tour” was in Pueblo on April 30, where he spoke to close to 600 students and teachers at Sierra Vista Elementary School.  The second locale was an after work meet-and-greet in Fort Morgan, attended by close to 150.

Other stops are in the planning stages for Steamboat Springs and Glenwood Springs (school assembly) later this month.
