UAA Invitational Delayed

ANCHORAGE (Updated Jan. 7 p.m.) ? TuesdayGÇÖs UAA Invitational classical races were canceled due to the weather (extreme cold). They were first rescheduled for Thursday (Jan. 8) but were pushed back yet again Wednesday afternoon to Friday. Generally speaking, races are not started unless the temperature is four degrees below zero or higher, and with the forecast not calling for a further drop until after the races are completed.

This also will run into the start of the second collegiate meet that is in Alaska (the Seawolf Invitational). The schedule below for the remainder of the week (Nordic events at Kincaid Park, Anchorage; alpine events at Alyeska Ski Area in Girdwood):

Alpine- Seawolf Invite ? MenGÇÖs GS and WomenGÇÖs SL

Jan. 9

Nordic- 5/10km Classical

Alpine- UAA Invite ? WomenGÇÖs GS and Men's SL

Jan. 10

Nordic? Seawolf Invite ? 10/15km Classical Mass Start

Alpine- Seawolf Invite ? WomenGÇÖs GS and MenGÇÖs SL

Jan. 11

Nordic- Seawolf Invite ?10/15km Skate Mass Start
