Home Volleyball, Football Lead Into Parents Weekend

Volleyball hosts Texas Tech on Wednesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. at the Coors Events Center. Liz Kritza's Buffs are going for their first conference win and will welcome club volleyball programs, Boulder Parks and Recreation groups and host a middle school/junior high study break. Group Prices are generally $2 for groups of 10 or more. Also, 2 for 1 tickets at the door. For more information on any of these promotions, please call 303-492-1976.
Football returns home for the first time in a month and will host No. 15 Kansas on Saturday, October 17. Game time is set for 5 p.m. and there are still some tickets available. Click here to get your tickets now.
The cold weekend probably got Buff fans breaking out their coats. If you found one you don't use anymore in the process, bring it to the game as the Student Athlete Advisory Council for CU Athletics will be collecting coats to donate to Coats for Colorado at the game. Collection bins will be setup at various points around the stadium.
Verizon Wireless will be collecting no-longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any wireless service provider for their "Hopeline" program. Verizon will then turn these unused wireless phones into support phones for victims of domestic violence. For more information visit http://aboutus.vzw.com/communityservice/hopeLine.html.
- Soccer is heading to Texas to take on the Aggies on Friday in College Station, then turning around and heading to Austin to face the Longhorns on Sunday. The Buffs are coming off a 1-0 win over Kansas on Sunday and are still atop the Big 12 standings at 5-2 in conference play. Texas A&M is third and Texas is fifth, so this will be a pivotal weekend for Bill Hempen's squad.
- Cross Country will head to Pre-Nationals at Terre Haute, Ind., this Saturday. This is a great opportunity for the Buffs to get a preview of the course and the field they'll face at the NCAA Championships in November. Jenny Barringer is a favorite.
Other Events:
- The Dan Hawkins Radio Show will continue at its normal time this week at the Boulder Draft House on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Hawkins is joined by co-hosts Mark Johnson and Larry Zimmer.
- The Pearl Street Stampede returns on Friday night at 7p.m. See the Buffs, the marching band and much more as CU makes a return to Pearl Street for the first time since September 18. Don't miss it!
