Barringer Signs With Flynn Sports Management

BOULDER GÇöUniversity of Colorado senior Jenny Barringer has announced signing with Flynn Sports Management and agent Ray Flynn to represent her as she pursues her professional running career.
Flynn is the President and Chief Executive Officer of FSM which manages over 50 athletes. FSM specializes in athlete representation in track and field and road racing. Some of its world-class athletes include Abdi Abdirahman, Deena Kastor, Wallace Spearman and Alan Webb as well as former CU athletes Shayne (Wille) Culpepper and Renee Metivier-Baillie. CU assistant throws coach Casey Malone is also one of FSMGÇÖs athletes.

The two-time Academic All-American is a double major in political science and economics and will graduate from CU this month and currently owns a 3.7 grade point average. Barringer plans to stay in Boulder to continue her training with Colorado track and field coaches Mark Wetmore and Heather Burroughs. She will also stay on with the cross country and track and field program as a volunteer coach.
GÇ£While running is my immediate future, I'm also serious about eventually pursuing law school,GÇ¥ Barringer said about her future plans. GÇ£They are both lifetime dreams and will both have their season in my future.GÇ¥
The CU ace leaves the Buffaloes as one of the best athletes in school history. She became the first female Buff to win four NCAA titles (three in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and one in the indoor 3,000-meter run), and she also has four Big 12 titles (cross country, indoor mile and two steeplechase titles). Barringer was named the CU Female Athlete of the Year twice and was named the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame 2008 College Female Athlete of the Year. She won the 2009 Honda Sports Award for track and field and was named one of five semi-finalists for the Honda Broderick Cup which is given to the top collegiate female athlete in all sports.
BarringerGÇÖs 2009 track and field season was possibly the best ever recorded by a collegiate athlete, male or female. She set six NCAA records, which included the fastest time in the world in the indoor mile (4:25.91) and she became the third American female to run a sub four-minute mile (3:59.90). Barringer also set seven CU records and reset her own American record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:12.50) at the IAAF World Championship in Berlin, Germany, where she became the eighth fastest woman in the world in the event.
